Scanning & Medical Records Clerk

Granger Medical Clinic is one of the largest independent, physician-owned medical clinic groups in Utah. At Granger Medical Clinic, exceptional care comes from all of us. Our Medical Records department is in need of an additional team member. We are looking for a friendly and professional candidate looking to enter the medical field or continue on progressing in the medical field as a Medical Records Clerk.

The Scanning & Medical Records Clerk will be responsible for providing quality scanning, indexing, and medical records service. Experience in Medical Records is preferred however, we are looking for the right candidate. Entry level candidates are welcome to apply.

Location: West Jordan

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8-5pm.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients presenting for medical records or other services in a courteous manner.
  • Respond to general information and questions concerning medical records, the clinic and providers.
  • Answer phones in a professional manner.
  • Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with physicians, clinic staff and patients.
  • Prepare, sort, scan, and index patient and clinic documents.
  • Submit medical record requests.
  • Other Duties/Requirements as assigned.


  • Previous scanning, indexing, and Medical records preferred.
  • Two years in a health care organization preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of HIPPA and medical records.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Must be a team player and enjoy working with people.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Typing/ key-boarding skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Mental/Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

  • Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
  • Position is inside in a climate-controlled office environment.
