Medical Coder

Granger Medical Clinic was founded in 1954. Two providers came together with the hope of better serving the Granger community (now West Valley City). Their practice steadily grew and in 1998, the clinic then 21 providers strong moved to a larger building in West Valley City. Today, Granger Medical Clinic has become one of Utah's largest physician-owned medical groups with 28 locations now spanning four counties reaching from Bountiful to Payson and Sandy to Tooele.

We have our own, inhouse, medical billing and medical coding department. As we continue on growing so does our Revenue cycle department and we are looking for two Medical Coders to join the team. The ideal medical coder will have outpatient experience in the following Specialties: Asthma & Allergy, OB/GYN, Orthopedic, and Dermatology. We are looking for a friendly, experienced and professional Medical Coder.

Candidates with Medical coding experience in other specialties are welcome to apply!

Location: West Jordan

Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00 - 5:00pm

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Extract information from operation reports, transcription, and other documents and apply proper CPT and ICD-9 codes to the applicable billing documents.
  • Provide coding and billing education / feedback to providers.
  • Research, correct, resubmit and appeal denied claims.
  • Keep informed on standard as well unique payer policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated / proven customer service, communication, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
  • Must be certified by AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS-P).
  • Medical coding experience (2 years) preferred
  • Ability to code Specialty Service Lines (Dermatology, OB/FYN, Orthopedics, Pulmonology, Asthma and Allergy)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Sedentary work, requiring lifting up to 10lbs
  • Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment
  • Inside, climate-controlled working conditions
